Pancake Rocks Photo Gallery

Punakaiki Pancake Rocks are strange rock formations of pancake-like limestone. It is believed these formations were created over 30 million years ago and pushed up from the sea floor. There is a small visitor center on the coastal road, and a very well marked and kept tourist walk through the rocks along the jagged shoreline.
